Paper: Pressed, Printed, Sliced and Creased, an exhibit exploring the range and diversity of artwork on paper, opens Friday, January 11th, with an artists reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
This exhibition focuses on works on paper, including prints, illustrated books, and selected drawings that explore and manipulate the materiality of paper itself. Paper is almost always the place where art begins and is the substance that receives the hint of an idea and finds its first outward realization. Yet paper can also support the most complex and layered of processes—watercolor, lithography and print—and be the foundation of the most refined and finished of artistic constructions.
