The Carl Cherry Center for the Arts is proud to present a compelling solo exhibition featuring recent paintings and work on paper by Carmel-based, artist Kirstine Reiner Hansen. The exhibition highlights Reiner Hansen’s distinct exploration of contemporary identity, psychological space, and fragmented realism.

An opening reception with the artist will be held Friday, October 2, from 5-7pm. An artist’s walkthrough will be held Saturday, October 17th, at 3pm. Both events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays 12-4pm or by appointment.

“The ceaseless pacing of contemporary existence often leaves us suspended in fragments,” notes Reiner Hansen regarding her creative aspiration. Her process—frequently combining meticulous observation with intuitive, collage-like compositions—invites viewers to navigate an aesthetic puzzle where old master qualities collide with contemporary disruption.

Born in Odense, Denmark, Reiner Hansen studied graphic design and illustration at the Kolding School of Design. Over a career spanning decades, her work has been exhibited widely across the United States and Europe, including prominent shows at the Jack Fischer Gallery (San Francisco) and international galleries in Berlin. She is the recipient of the prestigious Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Foundation Grant and has twice been named a semi-finalist for the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery’s Outwin Boochever Portrait Competitio
