Dick Whittington has made several appearances on the Jazz At The Cherry stage, and each one has been both delightful and unique. We are pleased to welcome him back once again for what promises to be another outstanding afternoon of straight-ahead jazz, featuring music by Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Benny Golson, along with beautiful standards by Harold Arlen, Johnny Mandel, Carlos Jobim, and others. Dick will be joined by a couple of his favorite sidemen—accomplished musicians drawn from the Monterey Peninsula’s rich pool of jazz talent.

Dick is well known and much loved by Peninsula jazz audiences, not only for his warm and comfortable stage presence, but also for an extensive career that has included performances with many of the great names in jazz, among them Chet Baker, Sonny Criss, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Charlie Haden, Billy Higgins, Bobby Hutcherson, Barney Kessel, Scott LaFaro, Charles Lloyd, and Gary Peacock.
