Site-specific or Environmental art refers to an artist’s involvement in an explicit locale, creating artwork that is integrated to its surroundings and explores a relationship to the topography of its setting, whether indoors or out, city, countryside, aquatic or otherwise.

The Carl Cherry Center’s artistic purpose is to present exhibits and programs that are timely, engaging and attempt to cast light on contemporary issues, both aesthetic and intellectual.
