Learning Curve: Threads of Influence is a group exhibition exploring the revered “arch of inspiration” that exists between teacher and student, mentor and mentee, sensei and seito. An opening reception will be held Friday, April 3rd, from 5-7pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Timed to coincide with the region’s PhotoCarmel celebration, Learning Curve honors the mutually enriching relationship between mentor and student. Mentors open doors, offering respect, guidance, and creative license while the student is allowed to evolve, discover, and pursue their fresh, personal vision. This tradition of reciprocal exchange may occur in or out of academia and explores how generational creativity is shared, transformed, and renewed.

Curated by Richard Murai, the exhibition features works by the following photographers and their mentors: Edna Bullock, Ann Jastrab, Greg Mettler, Richard Murai, Manuello Paganelli, Kenneth Parker, Lesha Rodriguez, Robynn Smith, Brian Taylor, and Lewis Watts.
