Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the celebrated duet of Dixie Dixon and Steve Mortensen joins forces with critically acclaimed poet and actor Taelen Thomas to offer “A Sweetheart Deal,” a rich and romantic program of eclectic music, poetry, popular songs and chocolate. Richard Rosen, the stellar harmonicist, will join in on some of the songs.

The concert includes poetry and songs intertwined with themes such as “Wine comes in at the mouth,” (William Butler Yeats); “Dance Me to the End of Love,” (Leonard Cohen); “Love Me Like a Song,” (Willie Nelson); “The Zambezi of Your Eyes,” (Nicolas Guillen); and “Love is Like a Red Red Rose” (Robert Burns).

Taelen Thomas, known for his powerful stage presence and resonant voice, has been performing the poetry of W. B. Yeats, Dylan Thomas, Robinson Jeffers, Robert Burns, Ogden Nash, and other notable poets for many years. Steve Mortensen, a versatile singer/songwriter, recording engineer, and bandleader, has been playing and performing almost his entire life. Dixie Dixon, singer of music in all genres, has a melodic, clear voice and will sing songs of heartbreak, betrayal and new and old love.

Included in the price of the ticket is savory faire, champagne, chocolate, cherries, wine and, incidentally  LOVE!
