If you are not up for a long-term commitment this September, “Monologue Mayhem”, offers plenty of opportunities for fleeting—but, meaningful flings. Produced by the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts in conjunction with Off-the-Cuff Productions and directed by Richard Westbrook, “Monologue Mayhem” offers an arresting spread of new and not-so-traditional solo performances.
Funded in part through a grant from the Arts Council for Monterey County, original work dominates “Monolgoue Mayhem” including original, character-driven pieces, rich and vital theater creations with interesting stories to tell. More than a dozen authors—prominent to newly discovered—cover a range of topics, from the enormous and abstract to intimate conversations. Each monologue creates a specific world performed by individual actors from Monterey Bay’s outstanding theater community.
