DESCRIPTION:Jazz at The Cherry Goes Brazilian! \nPlease join us as we explore the exciting and creative Brazilian sounds of Duo Violao Plus One.  This highly talented trio\, composed of acclaimed guitar master Rogerio Souza on 7-string guitar\, Thiago Souza on mandolin\, and SF Bay Area percussionist Ami Molinelli\, will perform Sunday\, October 15th at 2:00pm. Doors open at 1:30pm for a reception offering wine and light fare included in the $35 ticket price. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.com or by calling (831) 624-7491. \nThe ensemble navigates 20th century Brazilian popular music\, emphasizing Brazil’s first original musical genre\, Choro\, while also showcasing original works and inventive arrangements. The group’s first album\, A História de Choro\, released in 2019\, was highlighted by the San Jose Mercury News as one of the best musical albums of the Bay Area. \nThe trio recently completed a national tour that included a featured performance at the Chamber Music Association in New York.  They’ve also appeared at many notable jazz venues including the Healdsburg Jazz Festival and jazz programs at colleges and universities around the country. \nWhether you are an experienced fan of Brazilian jazz\, or new to this delightful musical form\, you will not want to miss this extraordinary show!
