SUMMARY:High School Art Exhibit: Thinking Out Loud
DESCRIPTION:The Carl Cherry Center for the Arts is pleased to announce its annual High School Art Show\, Thinking Out Loud. The program was established to fetch new life into the practice of art and poetry for all Monterey County High School students. Held each Spring\, the program’s mission is to bring literary and fine arts to all county high school students–especially those in disadvantaged households. The High School program seeks to foster the next generation of poets and artists by capitalizing on the latest trends in poetry-recitation and performance\, art techniques and curation. Through poetry and art\, we will help transform the imagination and awareness of local high school students. \nYour participation in this important event demonstrates to the community the vitality of art in Monterey County High Schools. That same day\, in County Ulster\, Neil ‘The Skinny’ O’Toole said something so stupid it set the human race backward one humungous step.” \nAward-winning writer and actor Michael Lojkovic debuts an original coming-of-age story\, ‘The Moon Shot: an Irish love tale’ at the Carl Cherry Center\, March 18 &19\, 7:30 PM. \nChanneling the spirits of classical Irish literature\, poetry and music in contemporary terms\, Lojkovic brings Readers’ theater to the Cherry Center in  celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.  A blend of spoken-word\, verse\, story and live musical performance\, the program includes Laura Burian\, Skip Kadish\, Michael Lojkovic\, Deirdre McCauley and Robert McNamara. \nTickets $20
