Houston Sculpture Garden

Located within the grounds of the Cherry Center for the Arts, the Geraldine M. and Tom R. Houston Sculpture Garden, which was designed by Carmel sculptor Eileen Auvil and opened in 2006, provides exhibitions of outdoor, contemporary American sculpture.

The sculpture garden may contain up to five artworks at any given time, including loans from Monterey County’s preeminent sculptors as well as loans for special exhibits.

The informal garden, which borders Santa Rita Street, includes a canopy of Monterey pine and native live oak, flowering trees and perennials.  A circular path winds through the garden, and seating areas offer visitors a chance to rest and reflect on the works being viewed.
