The Carl Cherry Center for the Arts will be screening the Smart Shorts Celebration of Film on Saturday, September 14th, from noon to 3:00 p.m. in the center’s theater in Carmel. The afternoon will feature thirteen original short films submitted from around the globe for entry in the event.

Smart Shorts was developed to encourage filmmakers ages 12 and older to create, express and share their lives and perspectives through films shot exclusively on smartphones and tablets.

Sponsored, in part, through donations from MCGives and the Arts Council for Monterey County, Smart Shorts desires to excite and promote filmmakers from Monterey County, the United States and around the world to produce a groundbreaking short film — 1 to 5 minutes in length — on this easily accessible digital medium.
