Barbara Brussell’s Cabaret-by-the-Sea is proud to present internationally-acclaimed cabaret performer Steve Ross, coming to the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts for two performances on Wednesday, July 12th. For his Carmel debut, Ross has selected an eclectic mix of favorites, including songs by Ira and George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Noel Coward and more.  Host Barbara Brussell will make a guest appearance. A question and answer period will follow the matinee performance.

About Steve Ross

“Crown Prince of New York Cabaret,” Steve Ross rose to fame in the late 1970’s following long runs as a singer/pianist for Ted Hook’s Backstage and the legendary Algonquin Hotel. He has spent the ensuing decades entertaining in smart clubs and swank parties the world over; from Broadway to the Ritz in London, Crillon in Paris, Imperial Hotel Tokyo and back to Carnegie Hall. New York Times critic Stephen Holden described Ross as, “the personification of the bygone dream world that his music summons.”
